- From Customer Feedback Surveys:
I have been in Samara for 4 months now and am all set up. I was able to take care of everything myself, but my experience is a testament to what you do for sure. It took me over a month and was many headaches later when I finally was back online. If I was to do it over again I would just use Poker Refugees for sure.
Ryan got up and running in record time. Once we sent the paperwork to Stars, they had him running in about 3 days. Thanks so much for your help. Nicki scrambled to make things work before she left on her trip (which is highly appreciated). Mau was great... his English was damn near perfect and we had a nice time eating lunch after he helped us with the bank account.
I used PokerRefugees to come to Costa Rica about 45 days ago, moving here is not an easy task at all, and getting setup in a spanish speaking country is reallllllly tough. They helped me w/ everything possible, and made sure I had everything I wanted when I got here. A+ service, def worth ~1800-2500USD~ They've helped with every tedious thiing from getting online to getting to the doctor, just amazing people! The help w/ getting a bank account itself is worth $500 after you try you'd understand. so much paperwork needed that they just take care of for you. Can't say enough good things about the service,
Hey my name is James Doherty. I actually did not initially use the Poker Refugees service. Six of my friends and I decided to do it ourselves in Costa Rica. This was a few months before Kristin started offering her service. For anyone debating on purchasing this service, let me make the decision easy and say, "do it". My friends and I struggled obtaining all the necessary documents for Pokerstars. It ended up taking us about 2 weeks of running around to various places, while barely speaking the language. Obtaining a bank account by yourself is absolutely absurd. I contacted Kristin in early fall, in order to get a new bank account. I couldn't believe how easily she was able to get everything you required for the banks. She was incredibly efficient and professional throughout the entire process, moreover she's a really cool girl. Kristin and her team basically take care of everything for you the minute you step off the airplane. So if you're worried about organizing a ton of things, the service does it all. All you have to do is bring yourself, and some of the necessary paperwork. I highly, highly, highly, recommend this service for any poker players contemplating the move.
I decided to go Costa Rica after going to Canada. I went online and started researching opening a bank account and renting a house but it was really complicated. I had read about Poker Refugees and I signed up because they could accomplish everything I needed, speak Spanish and even get me in touch with other American poker players currently living in Costa Rica.
Nicki Smith organized an airport transport to a very nice and affordable bed and breakfast, to stay at while I looked at properties. After looking at 9 properties, I decided to rent a place that another American poker player was vacating in two weeks. Nicki and Kristin arranged for me to stay with him until he moved into his new place. I was able to start playing on my unlocked Stars account the same day.
Kristin & Nicki also helped me organize all my documentation to open a bank account. It would have taken me weeks to do it on my own, but Kristen had handled everything with a few days of my arrival. Then she helped me transfer the internet and cable into my name, which I never could have down with my elementary Spanish skills. Kristin has made the whole process of relocating to play poker very smooth. I'm currently getting a car and starting to take Spanish lesssons. I'm very glad I chose Poker Refugees to help me relocate.
Poker Refugees and Kristin were a big help when I relocated down to Costa Rica. She was very personable and helpful learning the ins and outs of Costa Rica. With their guidance, I was able to open a bank account in 1 day.
I spent a considerable amount of time researching moving to another country to play online poker and driving into Canada multiple times to look for a place to lease and ended up being denied entry. When I used Pokerrefugees to move to Costa Rica, I spent a lot less time and they set up everything for me to move and get back to playing. It was definetly worth it to use Poker Refugees and now I'm playing on the beach instead of freezing in Canada :)
Poker Refugees are really on the ball and have our asses covered with everything we need.
I don't think I would be here and grinding to my full potential again if it wasn't for Poker Refugees. I really do love my life here and it definitely wouldn't be possible without Kristin, Nicki and Poker Refugees.
Working with Poker Refugees really helped with the transition of moving to a new Spanish speaking country. The women who run the show are ready to help with every call, every question, they put you in contact with the right people to do the things needed to be done, make sure that you get the opportunity to meet poker players who have moved here, they contribute to a sense of community. Even long after you are settled they are always available for constant support and send you great e mails with extra info to assist even further.
It's been great to start this journey with them, and to have woman who become friends in an unfamiliar world.
Choosing to go with Poker Refugees wasone of the most +EV decisions I have ever made. Moving to anothercountry can be a daunting task, and I was wasting countless hours andweeks trying to choose a location and find an apartment on my own. The vast knowledge and experience the Poker Refugee team has with theCosta Rica markets allowed me to find a place much quicker than Iever could have imagined. Not only was I able to view and choose aplace within three short days, but they were also able to set me upwith two great roommates, further reducing my monthly budget. Theyallowed me to get back to focusing on what I do best . playingpoker and making money. If you are thinking of relocating to anothercountry, you should definitely hire Poker Refugees. Your bankrollwill thank you
If you're thinking about moving to another country to play online poker, especially Costa Rica, you probably need Kristin and Poker Refugees more than you think. This is especially true if you don't speak Spanish fluently and will need help with just about everything you need to do. She did everything she could for Joe Cappuccio and I to make us feel at home in a foreign country and spent the rest of her time doing research and running around town getting everything squared away to get us back online and grinding ASAP. I really can't thank her enough for everything she put into our relocation.
Anyone thinking of relocating should definitely sign up with Poker Refugees. It's a no-brainer. I can't even imagine how it would've all worked out if I didn't. It has made life just that much easier and has also been a giant web of contacts I've made since first meeting Kristin. As far as getting a place, setting up a bank account, and having lots of people around you, Poker Refugees took care of all of that.
I got back on PokerStars within a few days of my arrival at my new home in Jaco Beach, Costa Rica thanks to Kristin knowing exactly what documents PokerStars requires. The move for me was a huge transition and Poker Refugees has been instrumental in making the transition as smooth as possible. I have been hearing that there are other grinders who are thinking of making the move and hiring Kristin at Poker Refugees is totally +EV.
I would highly recommend using the pokerrefugees service. The service was very professional and worth every penny. My transition from the US to Costa Rica went smoothly and I was back up grinding within a couple days of arriving in Costa Rica. Kristin is great and helps any time I have a question.
Some of the other players in my building used a different service and their transition didn't go as smoothly. They had problems with housing, internet, and documentation for getting back online.
You ladies at Poker Refugees are FANNNNNNNTASTIC :))))))
What is great about the Poker Refugees service is that you aren't disconnected after you move in and open your accounts. Kristin and Nicki are always an e-mail or phone call away for help with setting up rides to the airport, maid services or suggestions about restaurants and nightlife.
I have really enjoyed working with the Poker Refugees team.Throughout the entire moving process we had very little to worry about because Kristin took care of everything! Kristin has been able to make the move to Costa Rica a pleasant experience and I would recommend Poker Refugees to anyone! They have made this move so simple and enjoyable!
Thanks so much Kristin; I'd love to take you and your team out to dinner as a thank you for all the good work you've done for me.
I have known Kristin Wilson for a number of years. She has helped my business, family, and friends to find the right location in Costa Rica. Her knowledge and vast experience in the local market coupled with her ability to listen to your requirements and perfectly match this to her network of contacts make her your ideal partner. She is fluent in Spanish and English and is incredibly fun and friendly to work with. She gets you results at the price you want!
I cannot recommend the girls at Poker Refugees more highly. A friend and I needed to get relocated to Costa Rica quickly before the WCOOP, and Poker Refugees made it an unbelievably smooth, easy process. They were at our disposal almost 24/7 during the relocation process and saved us countless hours of trouble given that we didn't speak Spanish. You'll regret not hiring Poker Refugees if you're trying to relocate.
Amazing service. Much more than expected. Arrived in Canada on Tuesday and playing on PokerStars on Wednesday. Kristin, Nicki, and MD were a pleasure to work with. They made sure that all my questions and concerns were taken care of in a prompt and professional manner.
A group of us Relocated to Canada from the states a month ago. We gave Refugees a three-week window to be up and running before WCOOP. We were on PokerStars the first day we got there with a fully furnished apartment with everything we asked for. I can honestly say without their planning and advice, our trip probably never would have happened, as there was much more to do then we ever anticipated. Thank you!
Needed help back on FTP and poker refugees got me on in less than 24 hours! Highly recommended.
Total relocation was much easier than I thought it would be. I didn't have to do much but tell Refugees what I was looking for and where, and they took care of the rest. Total time from arrival to grinding was less than 3 days. I was very happy with that timeframe. They had all documents for reinstatement that were the right size/format so the poker sites would accept them ASAP. Deposited on Stars and my account was reactivated. Poker Refugees is totally worth it IMO; they handle everything so you can focus on other things. Really seamless and very much recommended.
Your service helped me find a place to live, set up my internet, and quickly get back on PokerStars. You also introduced me to many poker players living close, which has enhanced my quality of life and now we even have a Poker Refugees bowling team. Thanks for everything.
Thanks again for all of the help in relocating our friends to Costa Rica. You guys are the best in the business. I will make sure to refer any friends who think of relocating to your company. I wish you all the best.
We just wanted to say thank you so much for everything you've done for us. We really appreciate it!
I used to grind in a cramped studio apartment in the cold Midwest. Now, for less money, I'm living in a spacious 2-floor condo one minute away from the beach, with a pool in my backyard and a maid cooking meals and cleaning the house. The location in Costa Rica that Poker Refugees found me definitely exceeded expectations.
[You have] a very professional way of handling business and I greatly respect that. I will use you in the future and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you. Good luck and ttyl.
Everything is great [here in Buenos Aires]! Place is nice, landlord helps me out a lot, and the city is great! Thanks for all your help.
Anonymous: I would describe my process as completely pain-free. I don't think anything needs to be changed about Poker Refugees.
Anonymous: All of our needs were met. We relocated to Tamarindo, Costa Rica!
Anonymous: I relocated to Costa Rica and, for me, I am very happy that I used Poker Refugees. I did not know anything about moving to another country and I have always been told that the "USA is the greatest country in the world". But now that I moved, I have realized that may not be 100% true.
Anonymous: Everything went smoothly and the service was definitely worth it for a complete foreign country newbie.
